Efficiency Limits
Smash factor = Ball Speed / Clubhead Speed. The USGA limits the Coefficient of Restitution (COR) to 0.822 (often measured as Characteristic Time or CT). This legally caps driver smash factor at approximately 1.50 for a perfectly centered strike.
