The Invisible Gear
When you strike the ball off the toe, the clubhead's center of gravity wants to rotate around the impact point. This twists the face open. However, like two gears meshing, as the clubface twists right, it imparts leftward spin axis tilt on the ball (a draw/hook).
Bulge and Roll
Driver faces are curved horizontally (bulge) and vertically (roll) to counter gear effect, sending toe hooks further right initially so they curve back to the center.
